Ah, summer sped by, as it always does here in Canada. Autumn is on the horizon. Back to school for my daughter, and back to a regular schedule for me.
Fall 2011 Beading Courses are scheduled through November at Mhai O Mhai Beads in Stroud
The Tuesdays with Lisa beading technique group courses are back - did you miss me? We’ve even scheduled some new ones - Beaded Creatures, Beaded Beads and Beaded Christmas Ornaments, O Mhai! Check out the Workshops page for dates and times.
Lisa is offering personal Beading Consultant services at Mhai O Mhai Beads in Stroud

Collecting Bread Bag Tabs until September 15, 2011 for an onsite art Installation at Arts Ce Soir in Barrie, Ontario
Do you have those plastic bread tags that you can collect for me? I’m doing a site-specific recycled art installation and I need thousands. Donation containers will be available at the Lakeshore Mews stores.

Arts Ce Soir at Lakeshore Mews
Starts Saturday, October 1 at 7 pm and ends Sunday, October 2 at 7 am
Lakeshore Mews invites you to participate in Barrie's first all-night contemporary art event!
On Saturday October 1, 2011 at 7pm, Lakeshore Mews will be transformed into a Nuit Blanche inspired night long art and culture fest. Featuring site specific installations, dance performance, literary presentations, film and music plus fun activities in and around the studios of Lakeshore Mews.
I think I am included in the “site-specific installation” segment of the night’s events. Come by and see my globes covered with bread bag tabs scattered around the site.

Places to find my art in Barrie
Touring around Barrie? Here’s a list of places carrying my sculptures, stained glass or jewellery:
Awkward Stage - The lovely Alana at Awkward stage has graciously given my computer ribbon cable cuff bracelets a happy home. For funky clothing, jewellery, a great gallery and lots of little gorgeous surprises, visit Awkward Stage, in the Lakeshore Mews in downtown Barrie

Carriage House Picture Framing Shop - Barb is the lady to see for your picture framing needs, and some of my jewellery is displayed at the shop. Located just down the street from me at 100 Essa Road, I couldn’t ask for a shorter commute to restock.

Earth and Sky Connection - Earth and Sky Connection’s downtown location at 104 Dunlop Street East in Barrie (close to the Queens) has my stained glass gracing its walls and a display featuring my sculptures, origami gift envelopes, jewellery and other beautiful things. The place to go for your spiritual products. Tamare White-Wolf, the proprietor, is a wonderful soul.

Jill Price Studios - Jill is an amazing landscape artist and one of the most inspiring people I’ve met here in Barrie. She also has her studio in Lakeshore Mews. Some of my smaller sculptures are hosted in her space.

Mhai O Mhai Beads - In addition to being the home base for my beading technique courses, the Stroud store at 7896 Yonge Street now also carries my recycled paper beads.

Unity Market and Studio - I’ve brought “The Fisher” and two raven sculptures to the amazing, new organic food market/music studio/art gallery space at 25 Toronto Street in Barrie. They have a wonderful high ceiling from which to suspend them.

New to the Site - the Video Page
I’ve posted a few videos on my new video page. One is a tour of the 2009 Recycl’Art show in Montpellier, one is the TV interview featuring me and my work on Regional Contact, and the last is a slideshow I created last year. Go check them out!
Dragon for rent
Wouldn’t you love to have a beautiful wire sculpture at your special event? I’ve decided to rent out the Dragon sculpture for theme weddings, plays and other special events. I will even deliver and set it up. $250 a day gets you a decoration folks will be talking about for years to come.
